HBA Updates Guidance Documents

The Hospital Broadcasting Association has today released a number of new documents to assist the management teams within it's members, the hospital radio stations broadcasting up and down the UK, in working to the best practice and within the strict requirements of law.

Trustees' Annual Report and Accounts 2014 published

The trustees have today published their Annual Report and Accounts for the year 1st September 2013 to 31st August 2014.

Annual General Meeting

The HBA Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 30th March 2019, at the Best Western Stoke-on-Trent Moat House Hotel, Etruria Hall, Festival Way, Stoke-on-Trent, ST1 5BQ, during our National Conference. Attendance at the meeting is open to representatives of all Full Member stations, and to Associate Members, without charge.

Praise for Scunthorpe - for the care of one, special, patient

The team at Scunthorpe Hospital Radio were given special praise during the 2014 National Hospital Radio Awards ceremony, by former member Paul Sylvester. He was presenting the John Whitney Award, in Bristol, but used the story of one long-term patient in Scunthorpe as an example of the great work being done by Hospital Radio Volunteers right across the country.

Breaking News - Hospital Radio is the News Readers Favourite

The UKs longest serving TV newsreader has praised the work of Hospital Radio Volunteers, sending special congratulations on the work they do. Alastair Stewart filmed a special greeting from the ITV News room, played on the big screens during the National Hospital Radio Awards Ceremony in Bristol.

He said: "I've always supported Hospital Broadcasting and the amazing work you all do for those people who are in sitting hospital and not having a great time of it. It gives them things to talk about, to enjoy, it just makes their life a little bit better."
