HBA Management Changes

At this year’s AGM the Trustees announced that they had successfully bid for funding for an externally-facilitated full review of the operation and structure of the organisation focusing on what HBA needs deliver to its constituent membership We are now part way through that extensive review of the work HBA does, facilitated by an external consultant who has a track record of change management. Once our deliberations are concluded the Trustees will launch a consultation on the outcome and detail our proposals for the HBA going forward.

Following the earlier announcement that our previous Chair had tendered his resignation, the Trustees agreed that the HBA needed to consider appointing an interim Chairperson until the AGM next year. We are pleased to inform you that Grant McNaughton has accepted our request to step into the role of Chairman on an interim basis. In addition we are pleased to advise that Iain Lee has accepted an invitation to re-join the Trustee Board until next year’s AGM. They both have considerable experience and qualities needed to fulfil the responsibilities of the posts.

We are also pleased to announce that we have accepted an offer from Mike Sarre, our current Anglia Regional Coordinator, to take on the Trustee role of Treasurer.Mike brings considerable experience to this finance role. Mike will be supported by Julie Cox over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition and the timely preparation of the end-of-year accounts.
