We've teamed up with PRS to offer a waiver on their usual fees, which are passed down to hospital broadcasters. We also work closely with PRS for Music to ensure we work effectively for hospital broadcasters across the country.
Grants and Bursaries
We allocate approximately £6,000 per year for stations as part of our grants and bursaries scheme. Many stations have used this scheme to purchase new equipment or refurbish entire studios.
We're working with our stakeholders and representatives from both Government and the media, we strive to represent hospital broadcasting across the country. Sharing your thoughts, news and concerns to those that need to know and can make a difference.

Radio Academy Membership
We've teamed up with the Radio Academy to offer you the chance to attend regional and national radio industry events. Radio Academy membership is free for volunteers of HBA Member stations who have signed up to the HBA Website.
Our Annual Conference provides you with a weekend of networking and learning. Held annually across the UK, it's your opportunity to meet with likeminded individuals and share your passion for hospital broadcasting and learn new skills and techniques in our seminars. With special guests often lined up to share their experiences and a trade show full of freebies, it's a weekend you can't afford to miss.
The National Hospital Radio Awards
Alongside our annual conference are the annual National Hospital Radio Awards. This industry recognised event showcases the very best talent from hospital radio and celebrates the hard work of all volunteers in the sector. A night full of celebration with special guests. Your volunteers and station will gain excellent publicity from these awards both locally and nationally.
Training Events & Roadshows
We offer training days and roadshows based around your needs and requirements, often with a special guest speaker. Another perfect way to learn and develop skills. Our training events are reasonably priced and take place across the country.
Shared Programming Guide
Our Shared Programming Guide has hundreds of programmes to choose from. All of the programmes on the list are suitable for hospital radio and are provided by volunteers from across the country for broadcast on your station.
A dedicated forum for you to share your ideas, ask questions and network with likeminded individuals.
Full Station or Associate Membership
Membership of the Hospital Broadcasting Association is open to any hospital broadcasting organisation in the UK; to any individual who is involved in, or has an interest in, hospital broadcasting; and to any organisation which wishes to support the Association and hospital broadcasting in the UK in general.
